You may not have ever heard of LeEco, but the 'Netflix of China' is estimated to sell 25 million phones this year, and its latest is coming to the Le Pro 3 is a new Android phone with a screen and surprisingly powerful specs, matching just-launched Google Pixel and Google Pixel has the same Snapdragon 821, which LeEco touts as the world's fastest smartphone chipset Samsung and its faster Exynos, non-US processor disagree. There's also a much larger battery and dual Dolby Atmos speakers, and they're sandwiched in between the brushed-metal body and Gorilla Glass-protected of all, it's supposed to be able to match the processing power of the new Google Pixel, but it's doing so at a much cheaper doesn't have it all, as the display is just 1080p and the software is one step behind when it comes to having an older Android operating specs at a mid-range price? We've seen it before from Chinese firms with the ZTE Axon 7 and OnePlus 3. Let's see how the LeEco Le Pro 3 and release datePrice and release dateLe Pro 3 becomes the latest Android phone to launch with the speedy Snapdragon 821 processor, following the Google Pixel and Google Pixel official LeEco Le Pro 3 release date is November 2 and the price is $399. It comes with a three months of the company's includes a two-year warranty, 5TB of cloud storage on LeCloud with unlimited space for photos and videos, an unlimited Fandor movie pass and exclusive sales on it's shopping destination, is where you're actually going to have to buy the Le Pro 3, or any LeEco gadget for that matter. It won't be sold in carrier stores like AT&T and T-Mobile, and it's a GSM-only phone, so it won't even work with Verizon and phone or Le Phone is really just a way to suck you into its vast ecosystem, and that's why this phone is as cheap as the OnePlus 3 and ZTE Axon launching another Android on that same November 2 release date LeEco Le S3. It costs just $249 with dialed-down specs. You're not getting the Snapdragon 821 at that and displayLeEco is pronounced like sounds, Le Eco, not like Le Echo like some people say, but echo is exactly what its first US smartphone reminds us of the OnePlus 3... a lot. It has a very similar metal body and nearly rectangular shape that's sloped around the top, bottom and sides on the instead of that '1+' logo on the back, there's a fingerprint sensor. We tried to somehow peel off the square-shaped sensor to see if there really was the OnePlus logo there. No display is also 1080p, which is okay for a phone of this size, but an odd choice because LeEco is fully invested in streaming video and, now, virtual reality via its ExploreVR headset. Those individual pixels can look big up close. It doesn't have a home button like the OnePlus 3, instead going with dedicated capacitive buttons on the bottom chin of the Le Pro 3. The home button is the LeEco logo, and it's flanked by a recent and back you think of these capacitive buttons depends on your button preference. Other Android phones opt for physical buttons and others go with on-screen annoying quirk we sometimes see with capacitive buttons is that they don't stay stay lit, though there's a chance that'll be an option in the final software settings. We like to have that option. We'll update our review when the phone finally launches when we find does have a fingerprint sensor on back, one that's not a press-in type of button. It wasn't set up for us, so that awaits further testing too. A glaring omission we can talk about right now is the lack of a headphone jack. Like Apple and Motorola, LeEco is going all-digital with USB-Type C audio. Good luck charging and listening to music at the same time, just like on the iPhone 7 and Moto Z. If you're already using Bluetooth earbuds, you'll be fine. You'll also relish the fact that there are dual and performanceThe highlight of the LeEco Le Pro 3 is that Snapdragon 821 processor. It means this Chinese phone is one step ahead of almost everyone else in the an incremental one-up that may not mean a lot right now in benchmark, but it could mean this phone carries you into the next two or three years without performance issues. That's also has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which is a great value. Sadly, you won't find a microSD card slot here. Of the big Chinese phones are a mid-range price, ZTE Axon 7 has cornered the market on expandable Le Pro 3 promises to have excellent battery life despite its fairly slim girth. It packs in a 4,070mAh battery – with Qualcomm QuickCharge – despite the entire package being thin and waiting to see if the camera is where this phone becomes a lightweight. It does have a 16MP camera on the back with 4K video recording, and an 8MP camera on the front. We don't expect perfection given our tests in the demo area; not at a mid-range price. This isn't meant to be a pixel-perfect shooter from Samsung or Google, but enough to get you by on Facebook and other social media and appsYou're also going to find the user interface works differently than any Android outside of China. The notifications shade doesn't have quicksettings – at the usual 'Recent' button leads to a quick settings pane along with your most recently open apps. There's also no app drawer very common among Chinese Android phones, and it annoys the hell out of people in the West. We've heard your also going to dealing with Android Marshmallow, curiously enough, not Android Nougat and not Android launched with Google some potential behind the UI because LeEco happens to be a software-focused company, unlike a lot of other Android phone unmovable Live TV on-screen button at the center of the dock leads to a grid of shows to watch from its streaming service and partners. It's basically, your ticket to unlimited streaming from its version of Netflix, with a twist that things are playing all of the time in progress in addition to being on verdict LeEco has ambitious plans for Le Pro 3, with an ecosystem that spans multiple gadgets, including TVs, VR headsets and even self-driving cars. But this is a first step to getting at least one hardware device in the hands on a low price and with powerful specs, it's certainly possible this phone could be the beginning of LeEco's lofty cross-platform stream-everywhere goalHowever, long-term quality and reliable features are important so that this phone appeals to cutting-edge users who would want such a capable ecosystem. Otherwise, Le Pro 3 is destined for bargain phone shops as the first non-flip phone for everyone's grandparents. That's a very easy trap for cheap phones – one that aren't an iPhone or a Samsung – to fall into in the US. The Le S3, the second widely available phone from Chinese phone/TV/video streaming/electronics/basically everything company LeEco, is a less expensive variant of the more powerful LePro 3. At $250 it's relatively cheap, and packs in some pretty decent hardware. But it isn't as good as the Moto G4 Plus, our current favorite for the price range. UK and Australian details have yet to be announced but the US price converts to £200 or AU$340. The Good LeEco's Le S3 is fast and affordable. The Bad The phone lacks a headphone jack and NFC, has a clunky interface and its video streaming service doesn't offer many compelling shows. The Bottom Line The LeEco Le S3 is a decent budget phone, but the Motorola G4 Plus is better. A few things I likedClean design At sub-$300 you'd expect a cheap-feeling phone made out of plastic. But the S3 has a polished aluminum body and shiny metallic trimmings that give it a smart fast On paper, the S3 was much faster than other similarly priced Android phones like the G4 Plus and Samsung Galaxy J3 in benchmark scores to popular testing apps. Day-to-day tasks like launching the camera and scrolling through sites were smooth. Enlarge Image Live content from the internet is accessible with this Live button in the center of your home screen. Josh Miller/CNETThings I didn't likeClunky interface Just like the LePro 3, the software layer that dresses up Android needs work. Navigating around can be unintuitive, there's no app drawer Huawei and Xiaomi do this, too and your recent apps are merged together with quick settings in one messy page. All the video stuff LeEco's live broadcasting video service - which sits in your home screen dash and can't be removed - has clips you can browse from time to time. But there's nothing really there that I'd actually watch on the regular. The other Le video app and the LeView YouTube video curator don't have compelling content either. Camera's meh The phone takes good enough shots for casual pictures and social media, but they aren't as sharp as other 16-megapixel cameras. And while you can't tell on a smaller phone screen, images look a lot blurrier and muddier when zoomed in or on a computer desktop. Battery life is only OK The phone has enough battery life to last a workday without a charge and during our lab tests for continuous video playback on airplane mode, it ran 11 and a half hours. While that's decent, other rival phones lasted 13 to 16 hours. No headphone jack or NFC Unless you love dongles, it's a drag not to be able to plug in my regular headset to listen to music and calls. And without an NFC chip, you can't do things like purchase stuff with Android Pay. Enlarge Image The phone also doesn't have a headphone jack. Josh Miller/CNETOther phones you should consider for $200-$250Moto G4 Plus $250, £229 and AU$399 It's got expandable memory, is water resistant and takes sharper pictures. Asus ZenFone 3 $199, which converts to £159 and AU$269 This one has a more advanced camera that also includes laser-guided autofocus. Samsung Galaxy J3 $110-$180 depending on US carrier, £140 and AU$329 Super cheap and available through major carriers and retailers. Not as powerful as the Le S3, but it's easier to use and has a long-lasting battery. The Google Nexus 5X or OnePlus 2 prices vary If you're willing, look into deeply discounted devices that were released in 2015. Though they may have "last year's technology," they are reliable and are still more powerful than the S3.

The LePro 3 is heavier and has a brushed metal design, while the S3 has a matte, beaded aluminum aesthetic. During my brief time with it, they worked smoothly and felt responsive and phones are also integrated with LeEco's streaming video service known as LeLive. You can access it by tapping the bottom center button on the homescreen, and watch shows, movies and other content. Using a Wi-Fi network for connection, the phones loaded up the videos fairly quickly and images looked clear and bright. The Le S3 will go for $229 UK and Australian details have yet to be announced, but that converts to around £185 or AU$300 and the LePro 3 costs $399 about £325 and AU$520.Keep in mind that they're not the only high-end handsets at that price range. The OnePlus 3, from another scrappy startup based in China, costs $399 and £329 or approximately AU$530 too and its upcoming 3T starts at $439 and £399 AU$580 converted. Though it has a lower battery capacity than the LePro 3 at 3,000mAh and a Snapdragon 820 processor, the OnePlus 3 features similar camera specs, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory too. Still, with prices that are sub-$400, all these phones cost significant less than flagships like the Apple iPhone 7, the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the newest Google Pixel, which start at $700 or more. om0O.
